Pasta Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or rotini)

Sausage Ingredients

  • 1 lb sausage (halal-certified, Italian-style, smoked, chicken, beef, or lamb), sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • cup honey If thick, gently warm to loosen.
  • ¼ cup soy sauce Use mild or reduced-sodium for less salt.
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes Optional, adjust to taste.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for about 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

Sauce and Assembly

  • In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes. Pour this sauce over the sausage in the skillet.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing everything to coat in the sauce.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cook for another 2–3 minutes until heated through.
  • Serve warm, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

Use halal-certified sausage as needed. For deeper flavor, cook pasta in broth instead of water. Adjust seasoning based on the sausage and soy sauce used.
