  • 1 lb ground beef Medium ground beef is recommended for juiciness.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • to taste Garlic powder
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese

  • burger sauce For serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by heating your skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  • While the skillet is heating, take a small handful of ground beef (about ΒΌ lb) and press it onto one half of each tortilla.
  • Generously season the exposed side of the beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Cooking

  • Place the tortillas beef side down in the hot skillet. Cook for about 2–3 minutes until the beef is nicely browned and crusty.
  • Gently flip the tortilla over so that the beef is now on top. Quickly sprinkle cheese over the beef.
  • Fold the tortilla in half and press down gently. Grill for another 1–2 minutes until crispy and cheese has melted.
  • Remove the quesadilla from the skillet and allow it to cool slightly. Slice into wedges before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in aluminum foil or an airtight container for up to 3 days. For freezing, allow to cool, wrap in plastic wrap, and store in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months.
