Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1-2 tablespoons Olive oil for drizzling
  • Fresh basil for garnish optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and place the chicken breasts on the pan.
  • Drizzle the chicken with olive oil and season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Cooking

  • Bake the chicken for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

If your chicken breasts are very thick, consider cutting them in half horizontally or pounding them to an even thickness for faster, more even cooking. Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days.
