  • 12-16 oz filtered warm or room temperature water Warm water helps dissolve the salt effectively.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice Juice from half a lemon or 100% bottled juice if fresh is unavailable.
  • teaspoon Japanese pink salt Finely ground, packed with minerals for hydration.
  • ½ teaspoon maple syrup or raw honey (optional) Optional sweetener to cut the salty flavor.

Preparation

  • Warm up 12 to 16 oz of filtered water until comfortably warm, not boiling.
  • Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon (about one tablespoon) into the warm water.
  • Add ⅛ teaspoon of Japanese pink salt and stir until the salt completely dissolves.
  • If desired, mix in ½ teaspoon of maple syrup or raw honey to sweeten.
  • Drink slowly; sip over 5–10 minutes to gently wake up your digestive system.

Notes

Best enjoyed on an empty stomach right after waking up. Can be prepped the night before and stored in a thermos for convenience.
