For the Heart-Shaped Cake

  • 1 box cake mix Or your favorite homemade cake recipe.
  • 3 large eggs If using mix or from-scratch batter.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter Melted for batter or brushing pans.
  • 1 cup icing Store-bought or homemade buttercream/cream cheese.
  • 1 cup Valentine's decorations Sprinkles, edible glitter, chocolate hearts, or fresh flowers.

Instructions
 

Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

  • Wash and dry strawberries thoroughly, patting them completely dry.
  • Melt the chocolate using a microwave or double boiler.
  • Hold each strawberry by the stem, dip it into the chocolate, and let the excess drip off.
  • Place dipped strawberries on parchment paper to set.
  • Chill strawberries in the fridge for 10–15 minutes until chocolate sets.

Heart-Shaped Cake

  • Preheat the oven and grease/flour your heart-shaped pan.
  • Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan, filling no more than two-thirds full.
  • Bake according to instructions, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  • Allow the cake to cool before leveling and icing.

Frosting & Decorating

  • If using store-bought icing, stir until smooth before spreading.
  • For homemade buttercream, beat butter until fluffy, gradually add powdered sugar and milk.
  • Decorate the cake with sprinkles, borders, or fresh berries.

Serving

  • Plate the heart-shaped cake and arrange chocolate-covered strawberries around it.
  • Cut small heart slices for individual servings.
